Telecommuting

Telecommuting or Home-Based Employment  means to work from a remote location, usually a home office, by electronically linking to a company by phone, fax, or modem.  In this work arrangement, employees enjoy flexibility in working location and hours.  The daily commute to a central place of work is replaced by telecommunication links.  This kind of employment is not considered self-employment because the individual works for an employer. 

The primary telecommuting options available for the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation consumers are Convergys, J.Lodge and National Telecommuting Institute.
