Statewide Independent Living Council Member Composition
The Statewide Independent Living Council is to be composed of –
- At least one director of a Center for Independent Living chosen by the directors of Centers for Independent Living within the state;
- Representatives from the Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Kentucky Office for the Blind (ex-officio members)
- Representatives from other state agencies that provide services for individuals with disabilities.
Additional members may include—
- Other representatives from centers for independent living;
- Parents and guardians of individuals with disabilities;
- Advocates of and for individuals with disabilities;
- Representatives from private businesses;
- Representatives from organizations that provide services for individuals with disabilities; and
- Other appropriate individuals

The Statewide Independent Living Council shall be composed of members—
(1) Who provide statewide representation; (2) Who represent a broad range of individuals with disabilities from diverse backgrounds; (3) Who are knowledgeable about centers for independent living and independent living services; and (4) A majority of whom are –
(a) Individuals with disabilities as described in section 7(20)(B); and (b) Not employed by a state agency or center for independent living.
